I don’t know. Problem is : other people might be thinking about it too. I discussed yesterday with…americans, I think? (working for themselves, not for their country) who intended to do that and to build up the economy of a very small country. But after having invested their money, organized a party and so on, people sent by a major power showed up right before the elections and stolen it from under their nose.
Issue settled with ** Oredigger77 **. He has a technical issue that prevents him from exchanging items, which might be a problem to play the game, I suspect.
We’ll see hopefully it won’t stop me from doing too many things. Thanks for being understanding.
::shouts over aid raid sirens::
In case you haven’t noticed, fellow americans, we are at WAR! There’s a battle going on in Baja. For those bold enough to venture into combat, here’s some things you should know:
- You get 2 XP per fight. You can fight several times a day.
- You need wellness>40.
- It costs 10 wellness.
- If you fight once, you can heal at a hospital if it’s in your region. To check, go to Info, then Social, then scroll down to your region and hit Details. If you fought in a battle that day, you can heal. You get +10 per star of the hospital.
I fought 4 times and healed once. My wellness was back where it started, and I’d gained 8 XP (that’s 4 days worth!) along w/ some movement toward an Army promotion. I suggest everyone in a region with a hospital fight at least once. You’ll get the wellness back at least and get 2 XP.
Isn’t the loss of wellness a financial burden for those just starting out? By working and fighting I’d lose more than what I can afford to regain with food.
Yeah…While I’m preparing to fight in the cold Austrian mountains, in support of the proud resistance fighters who are, at this very moment, shedding their blood to free their small and helpless country from the oppressive tyranny of the of the fascist Germans who annexed it forcefully (and we all know where Germany annexing Austria usually lead), you’re fighting you imperialist war in Mexico!
Way to go, America!
Yes, except if you live in a region with an hospital, in which case, you can regain not only the wellness lost, but even possibly more than you had before fighting.
I understand that you lose 10 wellness by fight, and gain 10 wellness/ level of the hospital. So, if you fight only once in the battle and live in a region with a level 5 hospital, I understand that you’ll gain 40 wellness. You can’t visit an hospital more than once a day.
However, don’t take my word for that and double check with an experienced player.
Yes. That is correct. I’m considering, sometime down the road, taking up the life of a ruthless mercenary. Would anyone care to join me once I get enough experience and power that folks will actually want to pay for my services?
I’m up for that. I was thinking ‘politician’ would be better but I’d definitely take up mercenary work. So far I’ve been a banking man, making rouhgly %10 a day. Unfortunately, I’ve lost most of that because of a typo (stupid :smack:stupid :smack:stupid!:smack:). The fundamentals are sound, as they say.
So how exactly do alliances work? Can your allies send soldiers over for a war?
I was a member of the Irish team, but I got bored.
I assume I’m dead now.
Yes, they can. At least in defensive wars, but honestly I don’t know the details…
I’m now a manager Someone handed me a company to manage.
No pay for the first days; I’m supposed to demonstrate my ability to manage it first.
I’ve no fucking clue about how to manage a company in the game Plus, it’s a building company, and it probably isn’t obvious to sell houses. Q2 houses.
So, two things :
- If someone can find a buyer for a Q2 house, I’ll pay a commission. Don’t ask me how much yet, I don’t have the slightest clue. I don’t have the slightest clue about the price I’ll sell the houses, either. But if you have a hint about a potential buyer, let me know.
-If someone needs a better job or something, and is willing to move to France, maybe we could discuss it, but though there aren’t enough workers, I need to sell houses in short order to be able to pay them for longer than some days, so I’m not sure how this is going to turn out…
I’ve got a lead. How much commission are we talking about here? And how much is the house? Have you looked at CCCP.org yet to check it out?
Honestly, I need to do the maths first (hence read the rules about productivity, raw materials, etc…), because I don’t know how much they costto begin with. I see that Q2 houses sell for anything between $8.5 and $22 depending on the country. Prices seems relatively high in the USA, but there’s no offer in France (huh??? There’s a manager of a Q2 house company not doing his job, I guess) to compare.
I didn’t expect someone to come up with a lead ten minutes after I posted. I’ll try to come up with a price ASAP. But since it’s quite late over here, I doubt I will be able to tell before tomorrow. Regarding the commission, what about making an offer in my eRepublik mail?
Note that I don’t have a license for the USA (or anywhere else, for that matter), so it will have to be done by smuggling (“smuggling” a house
) and either by paying upfront or with a contract.
Suddenly, things are going on at too quick a pace in this game. I didn’t have any idea I would end up managing a company, let alone selling houses one hour ago.
Sorry, I had mistaken cccp org for ereptools.
I had forgotten that there was a productivity calculator there. Thanks.
In other news, it looks like eTurkey declared war on eGreece.
Some precisions after having spent hours figuring out how it works. Frankly, this company was in poor shape. Maybe there are reasons for it I’ll discover later, maybe the owner just didn’t manage pay much attention to it, I don’t know. In any case, his houses (I’ve two left in stock) have been produced at a way too high a price.
That is to say that I need to sell them for above 12.75 golds.
It seems that it’s basically a little more than what they cost on the US market right now, so I assume it will be difficult to find a buyer.
Note that I won’t get anything for the sale (apart, maybe, getting to keep managing the company, hence, later, probably an actual salary/commission). I strongly suspect the company won’t, either (I can’t know for sure, since it’s not like I’ve been handed a balance sheet), but it needs the cash flow in order to, hopefully, produce at lower prices in the future.
So, if by some chance, someone would find a buyer, I’d pay a fixed amount of 0.5 gold + half of the price above 12.5 gold. So, for instance, if someone finds a buyer for 13 gold, I’d pay 0.75 gold. If, miraculously, you find a buyer for 15 gold in some remote country where Q2 houses are even more overpriced, that’s a 1.75 gold commission.
(1 gold is worth about USD 40-45)
At the risk of appearing as monopolizing the thread, inspired by the mention a Turkish/Greek war by ** tr0psn41 **, I’m going to tell what I understand happened recently in Serbia in order to give non-players an idea of what’s going on in the game besides buying food.
Croatia, backed by one of the two superpowers in the game (which are, surprisingly, Romania and Indonesia) had views on Serbia. So they sent many Croatian to settle in Serbia and as a result won both the congress and the presidential elections. They were very confident in their ability to make Serbia into a puppet of Croatia, or just annex it, I don’t know.
In any case, Serbians closed ranks and/or invited friends to join the game, weren’t discreet enough about it, and the Croatian figured out that they were going to lose the following elections. So, right before the elections to the congress, some days ago, they voted about the impeachment of the president. And voted against. The trick is that after an impeachment procedure, the congress has to wait for some duration before voting again on this issue.
The Serbians won the congress but couldn’t impeach the president, who had the remaining 10 days of his mandate to misbehave. In this instance, he had two important powers. The first one was to declare war. So he declared war on both Croatia and Romania (at the expense of the Serbian treasury). The second one, as commander in chief, is to order a retreat during battles. Which he is currently doing. Croatian and Romanian attack Serbian provinces, and the Serbian president just order a retreat as soon as the battle begins. So, Serbia is toast, despite the efforts of its citizens.
Now, to mention how it relates to other aspects of the game. I buy and trade random currencies for pocket money. I noticed this morning that the Serbian currency had collapsed, not surprisingly, since Serbia is on the verge of disappearing. However, when I joined the game, Austria had been annexed by Germany. And the other alliance reacted by organizing resistance wars in the occupied provinces (which explains why I mentioned in a previous post going in Austria to fight, which I actually didn’t do because my employer didn’t want to buy me a plane ticket), succeeded, and liberated a couple province, so recreating Austria. As a result I speculated and bought a paltry amount (I can’t afford much) of Serbian currency, betting on a future reaction of the PEACE alliance and a rebirth of Serbia (and a massive 1 dollar or so gain for me).
As you can see, I’m quite addicted.
You’re welcome.
In US news, the Congress is voting on a proposal to bring out 750g from the Treasury/Fort Knox and use it to print money (which apparently they can do). They plan to sell it at $1=.02g in order to deflate the currency. That’s much less than it is now (=.024g). This means two things:
- The $ will be falling soon. Buy gold.
2a) When it hits the market, you can buy 1 for .02g and buy .02g for roughly .89, pocketting $6/g. Repeat for profit.
2b) Unless the market sees this coming and the price of gold approaches the $50 mark. That means both will be way overvalued. You can sell and sell and sell (like I do), making something like 7-8% every sell cycle until the gold hits the market.
