Justin Fashanu was a UK football player who killed himself, partly due to the pressures and abuse he suffered as an openly gay pro-sportsman.

I don’t know if I agree with this- he died several years after his career ended, and while facing scrutiny for either the stuatory rape or illegal consensual relationship with a minor.
