My mom, a spry ~70 year old woman, is having bad thumb pain. X-rays show bone on bone action, and some deformation. She’s tried splints and NSAIDs. The doctor is suggesting trapeziectomy - one hand at a time.
Does anyone have any experience with it? It looks like a a long, possibly painful recovery.
