I heard the single. It sounds a lot like something off Am Universum, but then again, each album sounds pretty close to the one before it. Nice location.
Uhh…do you really think that “Tales of 1000 Lakes” sounds anything like “Elegy”?? (Or “Karellan Isthmus”, for that matter?)
No offense intended, but truly, this is one of the few current bands that truly progresses with each release,as opposed to long-lasting acts that never have deviated from the style of their debut album (coughMotorheadcough coughOverkill*cough) I haven’t heard the last 2 Amorphis’s yet, though.

I do have to disagree with you on all their albums sounding the same. I’ve noticed a very distinct progression from the very beginning. The newest CD from Amorphis called Far from the Sun sounds to me like a combination of Elegy, Tuonela, and Am Universum. It’s as if they’ve taken the best of each album and mixed it all together. It is kind of short, but I think it’s really awesome. I’ve been listening to it almost nonstop since I got it on Wednesday.
No, it’s not that all the albums sound the same. It’s that the change from one album to the next has never been all that great. Have any two ever sounded the same? Of course not. Any damn fool would agree. But has any of their albums sounded very different from its predecessor? I’d say no.
Amorphis has changed, and the change has been good, but they have never changed overnight.
