My van has a trip A and B feature to record miles driven. It’s useful but very limited. Trip A is always reset when I fill up and its used to calculate mpg. Trip B lets me check miles around town and confirm the shortest route.
Is there an App that would record trips?
4/24 Trip to mom’s 44.7. 52 min
4/29 Trip to park 33.1. 37 min
5/1 Trip to home town. 122.6 135 min
Where I’d enter the description and the App would date stamp and record the miles. I would have to start and stop the trip function.
I like the historical record. So I can compare routes I took and compare distances.
Perhaps not what you are looking for but; The wife and I have an app called Drive Safe & Save from State Farm Insurance. It logs all your trips, speeds:eek:, and date/times. Because we are geezers and in Hawaii, the miles don’t add up so fast and Oahu is car inundated, the speeds are slow. We and State Farm get the trip logs and they give us a refund of a few bucks each month for not trampling pedestrians or smacking other cars.
You can call up the logs anytime on your phone and probably send to your computer. It uses GPS so it’s accurate. Once installed on your phone and a little dongle in your car, it takes no effort on your part except for an occasional password change.
Seconded. You get a clean breakdown of your day with distances traveled. It can even tell the difference between travel by car vs by motorcycle, most of the time.
If you want something more accurate, you can buy a device that ties into your car’s computer and then uploads the trip data over its own cell phone connection:
