Any Guy Noir fans here?

Comedy writing, actually. She’s a senior and had room for a goofy class to take pass/fail one night a week. She just took it on a lark, but she seems to be having a good time.

Oddly enough, Garrison mentioned this class in a recent show. May have been just this past week’s.

I forget the context, but I remember thinking, “That would be a fun class to audit or even to kibitz.”

He was sharing what the class had written about Cheney’s shooting mishap, I belive.

That’s it! It was this past week, then.

I’d been waiting for somebody to jump me on this, but it looks like nobody will, so I will. It’s NPR and not PBS, although they probably feed out of the same trough.

I actually missed that week! Guess I’ll be firing up RealAudio later.

Their last assignment was to write a stand-up routine, which my sister was all but unable to do (according to her). But that’s why she’s pass/failing it I guess.

To clarify while I said that I don’t like “the musical guests” I should have said “I don’t like musical guests”. I like Celic, zydeco, etc just fine. But if I want music, I tune to a music show, not PHC.

A few months ago, I happened to be in the car when he revealed the origin of the name during a show at a Wisconsin college. The college is right next to Prairie Home Cemetary . He gives a lovely history of how the founding of the cemetary was meant to help establish the town (many early settlers arranged for their bodies to be sent back east for burial), then proceeds to reveal that the cemetary now makes a lovely place for the college kids to make late-night treks with nubile co-eds, “which is where the Companion part comes in…”

Guy Noir is OK, but it’s the ketchup bits that crack me up.
