My 8-year-old has been wanting this game for a long time. I like playing games with him and he’s getting old enough to start with the more strategic games. He manages to take a game of *Stratego *from me every once in awhile, so I finally broke down this weekend and bought it. We spend the first forty minutes building a basic landscape before we even started reading the game-play rules. It’s certainly not as complicated as D&D; but it’s not checkers easy either.
We played the “Dive the Dark Lakes” Scenario and he beat me. I was shocked when Sgt. Drake took out my Dragon after he sucessfully used his Krav Maga Agents as cannon fodder to block my Marro Warriors and then slaughter them with the ranged attacks from Airborne Elite.
So what do y’all think of the game? Do you know of any sites with more scenarios and maps to build? Do you build your own? Do the expansion sets add anything to the game?
