What the title says. Are there any studies that show the cost of illegal immigration in the US or studies that show the benefits of illegal immigrations (i.e. increased production and profit of using illegals)?
There seems to be a lot of passionate debate over illegal immigration now because of AZ’s law, but no one seems to have any base line of costs nor any baselines on the benefits.

This [Factcheck piece](Jobs: Does Immigration Cost Jobs? - FactCheck.org) analyses reports from the Cato Institute, the Migration Policy Institute and the Economic Policy Institute, and concludes that immigration does not cost jobs on the whole because immigrants tend to ‘create’ the jobs they take up by growing the local economy. It’s a searing rejection of the traditional, “they took our jobs!” criticism.
This article in the American Conservative uses FBI data to conclude that there is not any good evidence for the existence of the “illegal alien crime wave” that people like Glenn Beck tend to warn about.
