Woooooooooooo! I love KISS! Alright, their albums are somewhere between decent and pretty good–and we won’t be talking about 80s KISS, cause that never happened–but they put on the best show ever.

No, we will not talk about 80s KISS EVER!

But…I did like “Lick it up”

I got my first taste of real rock music when I was six years old and my oldest sister was 11, when she started buying and collecting Kiss albums. I liked them up until they lost the make-up, which to me was their (pardon me for saying it) jump-the-shark moment.

Favorite songs: Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, God of Thunder, Black Diamond, 100,000 Years.

Gotta go with Alive and Destroyer. When they toured right after Destroyer came out, I bought tickets the day of the show, and somehow wound up 12th row center. WOW! That was one the best rock ‘n’ roll concerts I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been to a few. This was in the days when they let people in with cameras, and I have a really great shot of Ace. I still have a film cannister filled with the confetti that snowed down on us during the show’s finale.

Great band!

I saw them 4 times. They ranged from just ok to awesome live. It all seemed to depend on how much fun they were having and how hard Paul was working. When Paul was on and actually playing his guitar instead of just using it as a prop, they were excellent!

At a concert i went to, during one song (can’t remember which - it was kind of slow), Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley shared the playing of a twelve string guitar. Ace strummed the top 6 while fretting the bottom, and Paul vice versa. Freaked out this 14 yr old when I saw it.

One thing that always impressed me, was that they were musicans first. Very talented. KISS was just their ticket to stardom.

I was a fan when I as about 13. Haven’t listened to them too much lately.

I would rather have my kid listen to them than most of the new crap out there, so I’ll keep the records around, maybe.

My favorite albums are the Alives. I saw them on the Reunion tour and the Retirement tour…er, before the tour they’re on now with Aerosmith. Awesome shows both times.

Favorites: God of Thunder, Detroit Rock City, Shout It Out Loud

I think they are cool, I proudly admit to wearing my mother’s makeup and acting like them. I’ve actually started buying the reissue CDs since my stylus broke and I can’t listen to albums.

KISS is one of those bands where the puny CD inlay can’t do the huge album jacket justice.

I saw them on the latest ‘farewell’ tour with Peter and Ace, it ruled. It was like actually getting to live a childhood dream that I never thought would happen.

At the Kiss/Aerosmith concert at Jones Beach this past August, Kiss really into the stage act, and seemed to be enjoying themselves even, but the crowd really didn’t respond. This added up to a show that I thought was ‘eh’, and several of my friends agreed.
However, when Aerosmith took the stage the crowd went wild and kept it up through the entire (rather short) set, so it wasn’t like we weren’t paying attention or anything…
