This, precisely. I still consider myself left-handed.
I can also use a mouse comfortably with either hand, although I seem to end up with it on my right side more often than not. Of course, I use a trackball, so it hardly matters.

Sinister southpaw checking in. I’m not completely left-handed, but that’s the hand that I write/draw and eat with, much like a few others here.
wow… even at my age, i’m still capable of amazement at myself.
Left hand:
Write
Eat*
Shave
skateboard (goofy-foot)
hold little-Flander while at the restroom.
Right hand:
Throw
Kick
Golf
Bat
guitar (technically, even though the dexterity is required in the left hand)
scissors
punching (strong arm)
My twin is the exact same way except he skateboards regular.
*When I’m eating, I hold the fork in my left hand, the knife in my right and never the two shall switch!! Those people that cut with their right hand, then switch the fork to their right hand to eat (or vice versa) are FREAKS!!!
I just rejected about 5 oven mitts at the store because the design was only on one side and would be on the palm if used on the left hand. Egregious handedness!
I have posted this before, but it annoys me enough to bear repeating.
I hate the credit card swipey dealies at the registers…the ones that won’t swivel. I have broken one before, thinking that it will swivel when I yank it in the position to sign my left-handed scrawl. Turns out, it wasn’t the swivel type and I ended up snatching it from its foundation and leaving it hanging by some colored cords.
I hate when someone is trying get me to sign something and they shove the papers at me at a right-handed angle and try to force me to sign that way. Let the paper go so that I can arrange in the crazy way that I have to in order to sign my stupid signature.
Those are the only two things that have ever even made me notice that I am left handed.
I think there’s a Ph.D. dissertation in here somewhere (and it’s probably already been written.) Are there people who identify themselves as righties who do many things with their left hands? (It seems like we lefties all identify ourselves as such on the basis of the hand we write with.) Are there people who are exclusively lefty or righty? What percentage of lefties are exclusively lefty? From the teeny sample here, it appears that the majority of lefties do lots of things right-handed.
I think I’ll start another thread asking about righties.
The most annoying thing for me, and really it’s simple enough, is I’m always sticking out the wrong hand for a shake. It results in that awkward moment where you both realize the hands you’re holding out aren’t going to come together the way they should, and then you have to quickly decide between the two of you, on some unconscious level, who is going to rescind the hand and stick out the correct one. You would think eventually I’d memorize which hand to stick out, but it seems to be instinctual.
I’m also irritated by door handles. Door handles are never on the side they should be on.
BTW: Welcome to the Dope, Coup.
Leftys Rule!!!
I was lucky enough to have a writing teacher who figured out that if I turned my paper, I wouldn’t drag my hand in what I had written. Think of it as writing down the page rather than across. Worked like a charm and no hand cramping either. I do get funny looks from people though.
I’m a lefty through and through (I even wear my watch on my right hand, because you are supposed to wear your watch on your non-dominant hand, and I get a little thrill when I find someone similarly adorned).
Actually, there is one thing I do right handed, but I’ve been loathe to mention it publicly. Definitely TMI, as it’s bathroom related.
Oh hell…here it goes. The only thing I do right-handed is wipe my ass , but I always figured that was just my own inate, ingenious way of keeping my precious left hand clean!
I’m a lefty but due to a childhood injury (got my thumb slammed in the tractor cab door) I do many everyday things right-handed.
Left:
Write
Bat
Golf
Tennis
Right:
Shoot basketball
Hit volleyball
Throw
Kick
Computer mouse
Scissors
Either:
Eat
Drink
Smoke
Bowl
'Nother Lefty checking in! The only thing I do righty is:
Kicking
Why is that?
I guess I mouse righty too, but can switch if necessary.
I don’t think I count, because although I was born left-handed, my mother forced me to be right-handed for school purposes. Now I write right-handed, but can do almost anything else with either hand. Comes in handy when dining in tight quarters because if someone is bumping my right elbow, I’ll just switch my fork to the other hand. Even can cross stitch with either hand, although I’m slower with my left.
