Here’s the thing: My night job requires me to do about 1 1/2 hours worth of work in a 13-hour shift. The other 11.5 hours I’m free to watch TV, sleep, do crossword puzzles, etc. (and my boss has made it expressly clear that I’m allowed to do so) so long as I don’t leave the building. Basically I’m paid to be a warm body in the chair.
I’ve decided to kill some time by catching up on movies that I’ve been meaning to watch. But with 11-hour stretches to kill, several days per month, the 3 DVD’s at a time that I’m allowed by the maximum Netflix and Blockbuster plans aren’t going to cut it. I’m going to need, like, five or six or more.
Is there any similar service that allows me to have more than 3 DVD’s out at a time?
FYI, our Netflix turns around pretty quickly. If I mail the DVD back on Monday, I get a new one by Wednesday. So if you belonged to two services, you may be OK.
I would use the Netflix streaming option if possible, if I were you.
BUT - Everybody has stayed on topic and not asked the most important question. What is your job? You “work” a 13 hour shift and only have 90 minutes of actual work and your boss is ok with you doing whatever you want the rest of the time?
It’s my night job, and I’m just doing it to pick up some extra bux. I’m a care provider in a group home for developmentally disabled adult men. But these men are all low-maintenance, self-sustaining guys who care for themselves and stay out of each others’ (and the employees’) hair. The boss just wants a warm body in the office when she’s not there in case the place burns down, one of the residents gets sick, etc.
