Any men who wear hats?

I will be the first to confess, I don’t really know hat styles. I looked at a lot of the pictures and you guys are right, I think it is a trilby. I checked the wikipedia page on fedoras and it says a trilby is a narrow brimmed fedora. I also think my son will be thrilled to know his hat is called a trilby because it doesn’t sound “popular”.

And no, my kid is most definitely not a hipster. Black regular cut jeans, rock t-shirt (think AC/DC or Metallica), black button shirt over, but usually open, is his standard dress code. Oh, and did I mention he has a pony tail that reaches the middle of his back? His hair is longer (and more gorgeous) than mine.

Does he enjoy what he does?

Damn. Now I can’t get “Wham Rap (Enjoy What You Do)” out of my head. It’s the best song I know about how awesome it is to quit your job and just go on welfare.

I’m wearing a cloth coppola as I type.

(The trilby hat appears at 2:04.)

I wear a cowboy hat or bush hat (Aussie hat as someone called it earlier) pretty much any time I go out. Usually with a vintage leather jacket or full length leather coat, sometimes with cowboy boots.

This does look a little unusual in the middle of England, but I’m cool with it.

It was mentioned in reply #30 in this thread.

I’ll wear a straw ‘cowboy’ hat in the summer if I’m outside for long periods of time in the sun.

Or when I’m supporting my Wife during an IronMan. Often friends will come to watch her race and If I’m wearing the hat, it makes it easier for folks to find me in a crowd. Also protects me from the sun.

I believe chrisk was saying that he is a Canadian and a toque wearer, not that the hat is called a Canadian toque. Much like if I said “as a Canadian coat wearer”–I am both things, but it is not called a “Canadian coat.”
