Any Minnesotan Dopers listen to Radio K and/or The Current?

I’ve been a fan of Radio K since my church’s youth pastor introduced me to it three or four years ago. The stuff they play is just great.

Now I’m also addicted to the new radio station, The Current. My literature teacher told me about it shortly after it started. I’ve donated and can’t wait to get the orange record.

Here are some of the bands that I like that I heard of from Radio K:
The Decemberists
The Flaming Lips
Electric Six
Paul Westerberg- I was already a fan of The Replacements, but hearing Folk Star on the radio convinced me to buy Folker.

I listen to Radio K, it’s one of my staples on the AM band.

I’m also distressed to learn that I’m not the only Doper in Eagan.

When I worked weekends I listened to the K a lot, especially **Cosmic Slop ** (now defunct), **Some Assembly Required ** and Music Lover’s Club, the host of which migrated to The Current.

I like how The Current mixes up its playlists, like pairing up a Jimmie Rodgers tune after Neko Case, or (like they did last night) showing how Devo complements Kraftwerk.

The Current is the next best thing to bringing my iPod along, and for me that’s saying a lot!

Sadly, the signal craps out about five miles from my house.
