Whoops, my bad. I read that as ameri-indian, sorry. My sibs got the olive skin and non-brown eyes, I guess I just assumed a bit much. Have you got triangle hairs, though, I wonder?
I used Sun-In on mine once, and got a horrendous shade of orange. It didn’t change the quality of my hair - it remains in its lifelong state of thin and fine and totally unmanagable.
Get a really good wig, seriously.
I have brown hair, but with light coloring. I’d look good with blond hair, but not the blond hair I can get. I can get blond hair, but it has red undertones from the bleach and gets funny roots in a week. I look good with lemony blond hair or wheat colored hair, but not the brassy stuff that ends up on my head.
Cheaper in the long run, too.
I’ve had it done before, but I didn’t do it myself. It was a long time ago; and my mom (who is a licensed hairdresser) got it into her mind to bleach my generic brown hair blonde.
Three things to keep in mind:
- Don’t do it yourself.
- If you must do it yourself, do it in a well-ventilated area. That stuff stinks like it has no right to.
- Either way, invest in a good conditioner beforehand. Prior to my bleaching, I never used conditioner. The next time I washed my hair, though, I couldn’t get a comb through it.
I managed to get my medium brown hair sort of strawberry blonde when I was about fifteen. I used a box of some kind of “super blond” color. It had peroxide in it, that much I remember. It made my hair very strawlike, and I have thick, fine hair that takes a lot of torment without complaint. I wouldn’t recommend going blonde if your hair is naturally very dark. Brown hair is the norm in my mom’s family. Two of her sisters bleach their hair. Bleccchh. It makes them look far older than their ages, and the upkeep is hell. But then, I’m biased in favor of red.
Yep, I think I’m one of those who are condemned to be forever Non-Blonde. Hey, there are worse fates. The thing is, I know it will damage my hair, and I have sensitive skin, so I reckon I might be at risk of setting off some scalp problem if I expose it to peroxide. I think I will only go blonde if I ever want to cut my hair really short, because that way it will grow out quickly. And I’ll wait til I can afford the top-notch salon treatment every month (not gonna happen this year!
)
What are triangle hairs? They sound familiar, are they to do with the hairline?
