Any other cartoons besides 'Clerks' draw people with 5 fingers?

Except for Craig, but he only has one.

They do however show them when have to count and in this scene, they appear with 5 fingers (4+thumb) in each hand, counting 5-7-5 syllables to make accurate haikus:

From the Plan-e-tarium, Cheese Puffs episode:

*Cartman: Your haiku insults have no affect on me Kyle. I’m regional champion.
Stan: Does that mean you’re gonna be on that Cheesy Poof commercial?
Cartman: It’s between me and four other kids. I’m on my way now with my mom to the finals.
[Kyle does yet another haiku]
Kyle: I bet you don’t win…they don’t let big fatasses…perform on TV.
Mr.Garrison: Very good Kyle!
[Cartman attempts a haiku]
Cartman: Shut your god damn mouth…or else I’m gonna…kick you…squa… in the balls…asshole… (looks down at missed count)

…ah damn it!*

They do however show them when the characters have to count…
…ah damn it!

and he was pretending to play the piano on Elmer Fudd’s head. One hand was the keys and the other played in the close up. In the rest of that cartoon though he had the usual four.

Yes, and the rhythm and the fingering of the piano part wouldn’t have worked with four fingers.

I know this is a smart crowd, but I thought that question would last more than four minutes before someone answered. Good job, Walloon and Fern.

[sub]Walloon and Fern. Sounds like one of those Disney nature movies from the '60s, doesn’t it?[/sub]

I guess I should say that those rare times they show more than a thumb or middle finger, they have all five. At least I believe I’ve seen a hand with five fingers. I noticed it because I thought it was funn that animation so crude would actually bother to have all five.

I could be wrong though.

Why, thank you.
Samurai Jack also had (sigh) 5 fingers.

The Real Ghostbusters had characters with all five fingers, as I remember. * Ah, this picture confirms it.

Man, that was a good series! I don’t know why they don’t rerun it—the local Fox affiliate just brought back The Smurfs to plug holes in it’s Saturday morning lineup, for pete’s sake.

*(Though I’d guess that they changed to four when they turned it into “Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters”)

They all had 5 fingers in God, The Devil, and Bob - if anyone remembes that. It just came out on DVD…

I don’t get it, apart from the Simpsons which has 4, isn’t the de-facto standard to have 5?

No. Unless the characters are drawn realistically overall, four fingers are the standard in cartooning. (South Park is an exception.)

IIRC, the only case in which God has been drawn with four fingers is in the “Simpsons Bible Stories” episode, where He is portrayed by the normally four fiddily-ingered Ned Flanders.

“Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to appear on a tortilla in Mexico.”

Got one.

Anyone remember the Disney cartoon Bonkers? It was set up with a “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” premise of “Toons” coinhabiting the “real” world with humans.

Well, on the show, all the “real” humans had five fingers, while all “Toons” had four. In the pilot, that’s how they were able to tell one villain was a human pretending to be a toon.

Of course, since the “real” characters had almost the exact same animation style as the toons, this was about the only way the viewers could tell them apart. That, and the whole thing wasn’t very good, anyway. :frowning:
