Any other victims of food thefts at work?

OK, I eat out a lot, and a consequence is that I frequently take some home, which then goes to the work fridge. I’ve only been in this building two months, and in the past month this is the second time I’ve had two boxes disappear overnight.

In the previous building where I worked, food did sometimes disappear, but, coincidentally or not, each time it disappeared, a 400-pound security guard was working that night. Here, we don’t even have a security guard, but there is one in the adjacent building. Although there are late workers, custodial staff, etc.

Wonder if they have surveillance cameras in the break rooms???

I have stopped keeping anything in the break room fridge. It will go missing. I wouldn’t think of touching food that doesn’t belong to me. But someone thinks it’s a fine idea to eat my bagels and cream cheese, and use my sugar and milk, even if they have my name on them. Screw you guys, I will keep my milk in the mini-fridge in the research office - until the day I find it disappearing from there. Then I think I’ll write an e-mail to everyone who works there, and CC the GM and CEO.

Yeah, some sumbitch took my lunch last month, and I am still mad about it. Not only lost my lunch, but there were two small (uniquely small) plastic containers in it. It’s hard to find those things!

Some companies have a posted (or unposted) rule of not allowing food to be stored in the fridge overnight. Typically because so many people have the habit of forgetting they have food in there and the fridge suddenly becomes host to some really nasty and smelly science expirements.

I used to keep a 12 pack of Dr Pepper in the work fridge, I drink one a day. A 12 pack got to where it wouldn’t last a week. Now I have to bring a single can back from lunch every day if I want a Dr Pepper in the afternoon.

I have resorted to using a cooler due to rampant food thefts. We blame it on contractors.
