Any Plans To Someday Have Presidential And Other Elections Via Internet?

There still remains some problems with internet voting which haven’t been addressed here. One is hackers. I’m not sure there is a computer system so secure that a group of determined hackers could not hack and wreak some signifcant havoc. You think Florida in Nov/Dec 2000 was bad? A hack into the system would spark a huge constitutional crisis.

Second, one thing about voting is it is supposed to be annonymous. In other words, the government may know that you voted, but not who you voted for. It seems to me that voting via the internet would leave a huge digital signature as to your voting activities. For the record, the annonymous voting is to protect you from those who may want to pressure your future votes to go to a certain party or individual. That may not seem likely to happen, but it is possible.

Both aspects have been technically resolved long time ago. Look, you can move thousands of dollars by internet safely and the value of a vote to anyone comes nowhere close to that. And anonymous voting is possible. Check out the article I linked to about blind signatures.
