Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

Tonight on SNME, reigning AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio was defending the IC title in a triple threat against Rusev and Pentagon Jr. At one point in the match, Rusev managed to get Penta in the Accolade and seemed to have the match won, when suddenly the bell started ringing even though Penta hadn’t tapped out. Rusev dropped the hold and started celebrating his victory, only for the ref to inform him that he hadn’t called the match and didn’t know why the bell was ringing… and then the camera cut over to reveal that Dom was in the timekeeper’s area, had seized the timekeeper’s mallet, and had rung the bell on his own to save the match for himself.

That’s one of the most clever heel moves I’ve seen in a long time. Bravo to whoever put that match together.

It’s been done before…I think Eddie G did it once. But it is done so rarely that it is fresh. Wrestling needs more protected spots that aren’t spammed every one to two weeks. That way, it pops even old curmudgeons who’ve seen it all. Better than watching Distraction Finish #6 for the third time this week.

Dominik came out on RAW and was confronted by the returning Rey Mysterio; it looks like the two may be renewing their rivalry at Survivor Series: WarGames.

The Last Time is Now Tournament:

Rusev vs. Damian Priest
Shinsuke Nakura vs. Sheamus

Those two matches will take place next week on RAW.

Nick Aldis will draw two names on this week’s SmackDown.

The winner of the 16-man tournament, which will also include NXT and they implied even people who don’t work for WWE, will face John Cena in his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Meanwhile, Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match is scheduled for Wrestle Kingdom in January, and it’s being heavily hinted that Shinsuke Nakamura will be making a special appearance as his opponent.

Didn’t even have to say his name and he appeared.

clap clap

I hope the tournament is won by someone who’s never wrestled Cena before and is not named Logan Paul.

Former WWE writer says Charles Manson was a fan of Bray Wyatt and asked to meet him but was denied.

To me, Logan Paul has worse heat than X-Pac heat. If I were still watching, he’s turn off the show and come back next week heat. However, Lesnar outdid him with turn off the show and just not come back heat.

I grudgingly acknowledge that Logan Paul is a good wrestler. However, his kissing up to Trump and his ignorant comments about Imane Khelif last year have made him irreparably tainted in my book.

During CM Punk’s promo to lead RAW off on Monday, his first promo as new World Heavyweight Champion, he mentioned a few guys he wanted to wrestle as champion, either to test himself against them or because they needed a punch in the mouth.

And for the first time that I can remember, JD McDonough was seriously mentioned as a legitimate world title contender. I think that’s neat.

AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada will be Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final opponent at his retirement match at Wrestle Kingdom.

Every time these two have gone head-to-head it’s been an instant classic, and this match ought to be nothing less.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s one-year deal with WWE has expired and will not be renewed.

He was brought in for an edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event last year and was an announcer for the cage match between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, which ended when Priest exited the door. Ventura was amazed and dismayed that a cage match could be won in that fashion, and said so.

So he’s gone because he made sense. That figures.

“Winning a cage match because the referee opens the door and lets you out” is the absolute stupidest thing WWE does and I absolutely do not understand why they think it’s a good idea.

HEADS UP! Dominik is defending the Intercontinental Title against John Cena RIGHT NOW! It’s the one title Cena has never won!

So help me if Cena becomes a Grand Slam champion before Sheamus does I am going to become the Joker.

He did it.

That goes back to Bruno Sammartino and his grudge matches inside a cage.

Bruno’s M.O. was to beat his opponent severely and then casually walk out the door with contempt while his foe was lying helpless on the mat(often bloodied from being repeatedly rammed into the cage).

So is that a Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger, or Jared Leto Joker?

Maybe Dom will win the tournament and get the title back from Cena’s Last Match.

Re: cage matches; I remember WCCW had a similar victory condition when Abdullah the Butcher was in a cage match with Bruiser Brody. No way that tub of lard could climb out.
