Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

It was a Passing of the Torch moment, and to a worthy successor. Feels genuine to me. Flair was never one to lose ungraciously.

Roman’s spear is pretty much the only finisher that’s protected. I can’t remember the last time someone kicked out of it. IMO, finishers are overused and make matches look like a video game rather than a real fight, and I’d be OK with seeing them only once in awhile - Kenta Kobashi only used the Burning Hammer seven times in his entire career, and nobody ever kicked out of it.

“Flair was never one to lose ungraciously.”

Becky Lynch may disagree.

yeah, that’s what annoyed me about the tag match…by the 30th kick out… I was enough already …

on my previous comment, this might help

apparently, she wants to do a bodybuilding thing this summer

in other WWE news:

Oh ffs with the Mike’s Harder Lemonade sponsorship.

According to Meltzer, WWE has come to terms to sell to Endeavor, the parent company of UFC, and the details are going to be announced tomorrow.

Funny, considering that back in the '90s Shane wanted Vince to buy UFC and Vince laughed off the idea. Big “Blockbuster turning down the chance to buy Netflix” vibes there.

Shane McMahon running out for an impromptu match, legit hurting himself while attempting to breakdance, and then Snoop Dogg subbing in and hitting a People’s Elbow to win a match he wasn’t even in, is possibly the most hilariously awful thing I’ve ever seen take place at Wrestlemania.

And that includes the Rock vs. Erick Rowan.

Shane finally got his WrestleMania Moment.

yeah, I was waiting for some of the matches to be over …was cody not recovered enough? I mean the crowd wasn’t impressed with roman winning it seemed to me anyways

I wonder where they go from here

Finn Balor suffered a hellacious cut to the head when the ladder was brought out but no knew what happened because of the paint

apparently, Cody’s going to win when the angle gets boring someday

The little girl who headed up the dance troupe for Bianca Belair’s entrance had had her mother pass away that morning.

I hope she’s OK, and my hat is off to her that she could perform so well on what must have been the hardest day of her life.

I didn’t even look at that segment. The moment Shane came out, I skipped ahead.

Wrestling as we know it is now over. Tony Khan is thrilled because the WWE is about to fall apart. As much as Vince was hated for many reasons he is the reason modern wrestling exists at all. His decisions, his analysis of the business and the performers is the reason WWE has had no serious competition this century. Mark my words, or mock my words if you like, WWE will fail without Vince McMahon.

You gotta remember though, Vince didn’t do it alone. He had plenty of industry-wise former wrestlers and producers contributing to the cause. Morale is higher since he left too. It was high time for VKM to move on. Times change, society changes, and Vince wasn’t always able to identify with those paradigm shifts. Plus, he’s getting 10 billion $$$, so there’s no reason to feel sorry for him.

There was a time when the heel winning the final match at WM would have been unheard of. Of course, there was also a time when a heel holding the WWE title for longer than a month, much less years, would have been unheard of as well.

Not feeling the least bit sorry for him. But the whole pay scale for wrestling is based on the WWE with some help from WCW providing competition. UFC didn’t get where they are by paying their talent well. Despite the higher morale while the cat’s away I don’t expect the kind of production quality that Vince delivered. It’s already evident that they can’t stick to the schedule during shows, and HHH is not good at identifying talent. Or maybe he is because he realized he didn’t have any and would step on any wrestlers who were a threat to him, which were a lot even after he married the bossed daughter. And now that the company isn’t a family business anymore let’s see what happens to that marriage and his influence in the company.

And they did when Vince did his last-second rewrites?
Remember the caveat: CARD SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

It’s not just HHH “identifying good talent.” He’s got a bevy of road agents scouting the other feds, in addition to athletes not from wrestling backgrounds. They’ve got NXT to further refine and train these talents. Some do great in NXT and suck eggs in primetime, for any number of unforeseeable reasons.

I realize some people don’t like change, and yearn for “old school,” but WWE has a lot of competition from zillions of other cable and streaming channels. It’s not easy to cultivate the next John Cena, Rock, or SCSA types who can go on to break into mainstream appeal. There’s no easy formula to follow. Sometimes they have to throw shit on the wall and see what sticks.

Brock hasn’t had a lengthy match in free TV in a long, long time, so I should have seen this coming, but he turned on Cody before the match started and I swear to you, I did not see that coming.

Good to see Matt Riddle back!

I have to wonder if Cody Rhodes need time off or something?

Because that beating he took from Brock Lesnar SHOULD mean Cody is taking a month or two off to “recover”.

I think Roman’s imminent department has been over-spoiled and they needed to stall until they can change direction.
