This reminds me of when the Duke Blue Devils basketball fans (aka the Cameron Crazies) would yell BULLSHIT at referees who made calls they didn’t like. Coach K took to the mic and asked them to watch their language. The next time, they yelled WE BEG TO DIFFER instead.
There was a reason for that; college (and high school) basketball officials have every right to call a bench technical on a team whose crowd does chants like that.
I can see two responses to any PA announcements about language:
“WHAT?”
“If you’re not down with our language, We’ve Got Two Words For You”
There has been speculation that TKO might not stay on peacock when the contracts are up and also they might go to a model like they do for the UFC for the premium events
Wrestlemania is the WWE. It’s the ticket sales, PPV sales, network subscription, TV contracts, merchandise, and not just the one event, it’s an entire year of business for the company built around that one event. They’ve done well with sparse appearances from their biggest stars, Taker, Lesnar, Cena, and the Rock. We’ll see what they have to say tonight, and as always they can go creative and add twists and turns that will increase the draw.
I can’t watch the press conference at work, but from what I’m reading on my break it sounds like they’re setting up Cody vs. Rock with the winner getting the match with Roman.
Well, I guess that settles that. Meltzer is now speculating they’ll do Cody/Seth vs. Roman/Rock on Night 1 and then Cody vs. Roman on Night 2.
The last week has either been one of the most elaborate works WWE has ever pulled off, or WWE realizing they screwed up and hitting the brakes in record time.
I’m thinking this will be a 3 or 4 way for the unified title in the end. If Rock and Reigns are on the same tag team who’s gonna do the wrestling for their side?
My wild-ass guess: Rock pins Seth for the win on Night 1 so that he gets his win and Roman and Cody are protected for Night 2, where Cody wins after Rock turns on Roman and takes out the rest of the Bloodline when they inevitably try to cheat.
That’s assuming that Rock wants to salvage his reputation after the events of the last week and come out of this as a babyface.
In sadder news, Wrestlemania III alum Billy Jack Haynes has reportedly been arrested for shooting and killing his wife, Steve Austin’s ex-wife and one-time valet Jeanie “Lady Blossom” Clarke.
The article doesn’t name the killer or the victim except to describe them as a retired wrestler and his wife, but Haynes is known to live in this neighborhood and it appears to be him.
A statement from the late Ashley Massaro has surfaced in which she alleged that Vince made multiple efforts to get her to sleep with him and he started burying her and writing demeaning promos for her when she refused.
