Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

Jordynne Grace has suggested that Ultimate X will occur at WrestleMania.

On SmackDown, it was announced that at Saturday Night’s Main Event next week, San Antonio’s own Shawn Michaels will preside over the contract signing for Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ WWE Title match at the Royal Rumble.

Am I the only one who hopes the Winged Eagle will be retained and the ugly Undisputed Title will be retired?

Also, Braun Strowman vs. Jacob Fatu has been announced for SNME.

(Sigh) And here I was hoping SNME was going to not have those kind of pointless segments that do nothing but pad the run time. If you’ve seen one contract signing you’ve seen them all - authority figure cuts promo, face cuts promo and signs paper, heel cuts promo, attacks face, pull-apart brawl, heel signs contract.

Just tape it backstage and post it on Twitter instead of wasting airtime that could be used for wrestling.

Kevin Owens’ hilarity with T-shirts continues: A short time ago, in an homage to Dusty Rhodes’s “The American Dream Son of a Plumber” T-shirt, Owens wore one that said, “The Canadian Dream Son of a Security Systems Technician”.

And during his amazing match on SmackDown with Rey Mysterio, he wore a Mysterio Hall of Fame T-shirt.

Well, this one might be interesting: According to Owens’ Wikipedia page, he first considered making a career of professional wrestling after watching a tape of Shawn Michaels vs. Diesel at WrestleMania XI.

Joe Hendry won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship last night at Genesis during a show filled with WWE cameos including Fraxiom and Ashante “Thee” Adonis.

New match for SNME: Rhea Ripley vs. Nia Jax.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) defeated Private Party on Dynamite to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

wow i knew him when he started in bill andersons and jesse hernandenz s wrestling school fed “empire wrestling federation:” with a lot of other notable people

they used to come to the av bingo hall lol

So, who are we expecting to win the Royal Rumble? I think it’s gotta come down to either Cena or Punk.

I suck at predictions, but I don’t think Cena winning the Rumble would go over. I’d rather he be freed up to make more Peacemaker episodes.

Hulk Hogan’s appearance at SNME has been cancelled due to “family commitments”.

Last night’s SNME was OK, but disappointing. They still didn’t do any title changes, which if they keep it up is going to turn this into one of those Contractually Obligated To Sports-Entertain shows like Tribute to the Troops or Battle of the Belts that can be completely skipped. There was WAY too much padding between matches. The entire contract signing segment literally could’ve been an email. Jesse Ventura sounded like he was legitimately confused about the outcome of the IC title match and Cole had to “OK grandpa let’s get you to bed” him to end the segment and move on.

Jacob Fatu came out of his match looking like a beast, but DQing him made no sense. If Braun was so battered that he couldn’t defend himself, it should’ve been a TKO victory.

Fatu roughed up the ref. That’s when he got DQ’d.

The ref should’ve stopped the match before that.

A-Town Down Under have moved to RAW.

Logan Paul has announced his entry into the Royal Rumble.

In his tag-team title match against The War Raiders, JD McDonough almost killed himself on a moonsault, hitting his head hard against the announce table.

Sami Zayn lost to Drew McIntyre in RAW’s main event (he’s now 0-11 lifetime against him), and afterwards there was a bit of a schmozz that resulted in Zayn accidentally Helluva Kicking Cody Rhodes.

Zayn’s been doing that a lot to people.

To be more specific, Fatu got DQed when he threw the ref out of the ring because the ref was stopping him from attacking Strowman again. In a legitimate combat sport, when one fighter can’t defend himself and the ref inserts himself between the fighters, it means the match is over and the attacker has won by TKO. That would have been the logical way to end the match.

As an aside, I don’t know if they mic’d the turnbuckles specifically for that spot, but the sound of Fatu bashing into Strowman over and over again and bashing him against the turnbuckle was absolutely terrifying. You can easily imagine that Fatu was legitimately trying to kill him.

That looked effing painful. He tagged himself back in and looked like he was about to collapse, but he kept going strong.

Big Bubba Rogers was like that. He refused to sell legitimate pain. Jim Cornette said that when they went to an event, they left the car and the door slammed on Bubba’s hand. He didn’t show any pain until they went inside where the public couldn’t see him howl and moan.
