Any real benefits to green tea chewing gum?

Found some Mega-T Green Tea Chewing Gum (patent pending) in the vitamin aisle at the pharmacy, but it was right near the homeopathy products so of course I’m skeptical. The package claims that each piece ‘is like drinking 2 cups of Green Tea.’ Assuming I’m sold on the benefits of green tea but don’t like the taste, can I really get polyphenols and all that from a piece of gum? And if so… how?

(FYI, ‘green tea extracts’ is fourth on the ingredients list after sorbitol, gum base and maltitol syrup, but before about seven other standard gum ingredients).

I know nothing about the benefits of it, but…

that gum disintegrates FAST. Like it becomes this weird powder/liquid/mush after about ten minutes chewing. It’s very unpleasant.
