Any Rev. fans out there? (series on Hulu)

Since The Daily show and Colbert are off for the next two weeks, I needed something to fill the comedy void. So I figured I’d give Rev. a shot.

I’m glad I did too. I was a little skeptical at first as I’m an Atheist and don’t normally like shows that get all “holier than thou”.

But the show isn’t like that at all. It’s a nice show with a very dry sense of humor. Plus it gives a rather “interesting” look at how the inner workings of organized religion works. (Not that I know how much of that stuff is true to life.)

Great cast, excellent writing and, as you mention, surprisingly insightful about the doings of church.

The key to Rev is it is cleverly subversive, deal with hard contemporary and family issues through a jocular veneer. Smart.

Also, love the Rev’s party dance.

If you see it though to the end (3 seasons), the penultimate ever episode has a rather impressive guest.

about the accuracy, it’s deeply researched. Real Rev’s love it for that reason, apparently.
