Skateland in Lake George, NY. It’s what we locals still call it, even though the name changed to The fun spot years ago.
Yes, we have The Roller Kingdom in Hudson, MA. It has some modern updates like offering roller blades as well as skates but it is remarkably similar to the ones I went to in the early 80’s. I take my kids there fairly often and always have a good time with a blast of nostalgia.
We have a real drive-in movie theater nearby as well.
I see there is still one in Anderson. Indiana. The best floor I ever skated was in Alexandria, Indiana. Now it’s the local Eagles aerie.
Roller Palace, in my hometown of Beverly, MA. Spent a lot of time there as a kid. It’s in the same building as an indoor soccer arena. When I was very small, I remember it was twin ice rinks.
Northwest Arkansas - there are several. Local schools have “Skate Nights,” and they’re always a go-to for church youth groups.
http://www.highrollerskating.com I occasionally see ads.
Ther was one when I was growing up, but I can’t remember its name. There are still a couple in the area

Wow, I could swear my son’s school has scheduled an event at the rink linked in the OP later this month. I better re-check the flyer. The last time I went to a rink it was there and had a blast. But I’m one of the few remaining roller skaters – as opposed to “bladers.” I surmise that’s one of the reasons rinks have dwindled. Blading isn’t really a rink thing.
Really, they’re great. Kids have fun, get exercise and spend time with their friends - and they’re always in sight.
With out roller skate rinks, where do kids go to make out these days?
It saddens me to think that today’s generation will never know the joy of the couples skate. (And arcade games and “suicide sodas”)

I would think, in this day in age, the risk of injury by falling down (and the ensuing [del]penis[/del] lawsuits from TV shysters) would be a big factor in not opening or continuing to run such an establishment.
There are two in Portland that I know of. One of them is just a few blocks from here and sits next to an amusement park called Oaks Amusement Park, established in 1905. The rink has wooden floors. The other is part of one of the city’s community centers.
There are about half a dozen roller rinks in the greater Sacramento area. None of which are close to our neighborhood.
There’s one just a few blocks from my house and two others about 20 minutes away from me. There may be others, but those are the three I know of. Very quickly Googling ‘roller skating Milwaukee’ just to see what comes up, those are the first three listings, so I assume they’re all still open. I know the one by my house is, I’ve been to it a few times in the past few years and there’s always cars in the lot.
There are lots of roller skaters at the Roller Kingdom and the skates are exactly the same as the ones I learned on in the early 1980’s. The themed skates are the same too - reverse skate, couples skate, The Hokie Pokie, speed skating and skating races. I have entered the roller skate races in the unlimited age category a few times. I have never won because there is always some punk ass 18 year old with his own skates that can beat me badly but I have come in second or third most of the time and never at bottom except for the time that I was trying way too hard and wiped out belly first hard sliding into the wall to the delight of the audience. That isn’t too bad for a 40+ year old that only skates a few times a year or at least I choose to think so.
It is true that most younger people can’t roller skate very well though if at all. Roller blades took over a long time ago so roller skating is somewhat of a lost art. I can do both but being able to do one doesn’t mean that someone can do the other well at all.
What I want to see is a real, old-school, 70’s style, female roller derby but those are really rare.
That website is quite a blast from the past all right. Good find.
Is a Skaing rink a place where young musicians on wheels make loud bad music & recite awful emo puns?
Four in the greater Baltimore area that I’ve been to, and probably more.
Plenty of roller derby, too.
There kind of has to be a roller rink in a town called Rolla.
There’s one in our area that I know of.
:D. It took me a minute to get this, since we Missourians pronounce it RAHL-uh, not ROLL-uh. But still a good call.
One just a few blocks from where I live. There is also an active all-women Roller Derby team in Sacramento, though I’m not sure where they have their events. It used to be in the rink near where I live, but they’ve moved to a different rink.
There’s also an ice rink only a few blocks away.
