Around here, seemingly suddenly (although maybe I wasn’t paying much attention last year), every discount store is selling Holmes Twin Fans (which is basically two 9" fans in one window unit).
Sounds like a good idea, but it seems that they are not flying off the shelf - do other customers know something that I don’t? Does this design work better than single fans? Does anyone who has one have an opinion on it [a quick search of epinions turned up nothing]? They seem reasonably priced in the mid-20s (apparently this is not the digitial control option one, although I’m not too sure), but I don’t see other people buying them.
I got one for my room last summer. Works fine, does it’s job. I say go for it. They’re cheap.
I’ve got one. Love it!
It’s been giving good service for four years now.
Best of all, it’s able to reverse directions so you don’t have to pull the fan out and turn it around if you want it blowing the other way.
I’ve got one in the bedroom. It works fine but is a little noisy.
Bought three for my house - I put one in the kitchen on intake, one in our bedroom on exhaust and one in our computer room on intake. It creates some great circulation and cools the house down quite quickly once the sun has set.
Hope you don’t mind my practicing my aliteration on y’all.

It was the best $49.00 I have spent in a long time. It does an excellent job of making our bedroom one of the coolest rooms in the house and costs so much less to run than the AC.
I’ve had mine for about 4 years now.
It works great and has survived severe abuse. From falling out of the window (after I opened it and not securing it) and hanging by it’s cord. It’s fallen out of my slider window countless times because it’s meant for single or double hung windows.
At night, when it’s cooler, I have it blow in and during the day I swap it around to help circulate hot air out of the house using the ceiling fan.
If you can’t get or wont get an AC because of the costs involved, it’s a good little investment to keep air circulating through your room.
They’re pretty good, but keep the receipt. One of my fans is out of balance and rattles just enough to be annoying. So I only use one of the two fans when I’m in the room.
We use them for the main areas in our house (use AC for bedrooms) and they are wonderful… I especially love our big one that lets you reverse one or the other fan, works ver well. Maybe they don’t look like they are flying off the shelves because they constantly keep them restocked.
Mine works best blowing air out. I open the window on the opposite side of the house (I’m in a townhouse) and the fan draws a nice breeze through the whole floor. Great investment.
