No, but the CEO went home with the division president.Though he supplied 50% of her DNA.
We are a multi-location/multi-state/multi-division company. Near as I can figure this out, it was a last minute request from HR (?) to have photos of the various holiday part(ies). Our local office admin/manager knows I’m a photographer & asked if I would do it. Don’t think it was an ‘official’ request. Though ended up standing with the office admin/manager & the division president during the cocktail hour. DP made a comment about my having a camera & OA/M answered that she asked me to do that, & best of all I was free.
I took pics but no one has seen them; not even me. I didn’t look at them afterwards & they are still sitting on my camera. The marketing person was there (works in another office/state) & talked about finding a place to host them so that everyone can see them, a company DropBox folder or such. The office admin is on vacation until after Christmas. Have a feeling they’ll be forgotten about & never see the light of day. :smack: If I get time over the weekend & am feeling bored, I might pull them up in my PC & watermark them all in case they do do something with them.
For the technically minded, I usually shoot RAW & Jpeg-fine; I just shot Jpeg-basic for this event, so lower quality. (but I’m going with smaller size!)
Tell them the truth. Bring your camera. Take their photos with your outdoor action settings. (ok, not quite the truth there, but still) Show them the lousy photos they will get. “Now if you could get Jim from accounting to run about 120 mph around the block, we might have something.” If someone says “Well, my SO has a dslr and he says you can change–” “Oh, then maybe he could take photos and I can go to the party like everyone else?”
I am lousy with posed portraits. I enjoy taking photos that not everyone else does. (My SIL: all of NYC and you take pictures of a guy in duck suit in the subway?" “Yeah, there are hundreds of better photos of Strawberry Fields. I’ve got the Duckman”. ) So any time someone has suggested I do pictures for a wedding or event, I turn 'em down fast.
It was a roughly 6’H x 2’W x 1’D box with a sliding door in the back (so you don’t see any of the electronics) that they carry in in bags & assemble on site. Inside is a camera, computer, printer. On the front is a touch screen monitor (tablet?) that displays things like “Smile”, “Cheese” or a countdown to picture time. Afterwards, it displays your picture, of which it takes a group of 4 a few seconds apart. There was a table to the side with various silly props so one had time to quickly swap out different props for the next photo. The screen also allowed you to input a phone # to text the photos.
There was also a small slot in the side of the box where the printer spit out approx 6" x 2" group of 4 photos vertically along with the company logo at the bottom after about 2 mins.
The camera was both connected & mounted into the box so it would not have been easy for them to pull it out to take other photos of the event.
Lots of people got photos taken there so it was more of a hit than I thought it would be.
