Any way to remove the search bar on my task bar W10?

After an unplanned update from Microsoft (while i was asleep) I got that annoying search bar on my taskbar back. I havent seen it for years, but now i got it back. Its even got an ugly profile pick next to it :frowning: Is there a quick way to remove it?

I tried to right click on it to check if there was any options to remove there, but my windows knowledge has dwindled, and i was not able to immediately find something obvious to click there.

Any ideas will be helpful.

Thanks, Logs.

Right click on the task bar, click on Search, and uncheck Show Search Bar.

Thank you, worked!

I just attempted to remove it but somehow in the search pull-down it wouldn’t let me uncheck the “show search box” option.

You need to click on “Hidden”.
You either select “Hidden” or “Show search box”, rather than selecting and un-selecting each one.
It’s very confusing and non intuitive. (ie crap)

Got it, thanks. :+1:
