Anybody bought a rental rv?

I think it may be time for a bit of a size upgrade from my little 16 foot Fun Finder so I’ve started looking for something a tad larger. This is the time of year to purchase as prices go down as winter storage looms. I’m looking at some 2015 rentals that a local, chain rv rental/purchase place is selling. The prices are significantly less than the same from a private seller.

I’ve been reading/researching the pros and cons but would be interested in hearing other opinions.

No, but it might be comparable to the purchase of rental cars–they have a reputation of a lot of wear and tear–that renters treat them roughly.

Do you want to ask to have the typo in your thread title fixed? Might get you more responses.

But don’t cars have much more opportunity for being treated roughly? They’re driven on roads all day, after all, whereas a TV usually just sits somewhere in a room. Of course it might be that people are less careful carrying a rented TV than they’d be with one they own; but a TV isn’t carried around very much.

Huh? The thread is about buying rental RVs (recreational vehicles), not TVs (televisions).

I see…how embarrassing!

Well I bought it! It’s a 2016 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 195RB.

YOU!!!

head straight over to the “Misread thread titles ahem… thread” and confess!!!

aren´t rental cars considered “potentially good buys”, as they might have high milage, but are normally pretty young and well maintained, as the cost of a car breaking down is prohibiitve for budget/sixt/alamo? e.g. 50k miles but 1 year old

shouldn’t the same apply for RVs?

Aye!
