I saw them about 10 years ago at the Moore in Seattle… What a hair-on-the-back-o’-the-neck raising experience!
The tix was about $20.
And you?

Yes, I saw them on the Spiritchaser tour (1996?) and then I saw Brendan Perry solo in 1999. Both shows were fantastic… I wish they’d released a couple more live albums, based on bootlegs I’ve heard they have tons of material they only ever performed live and a lot of it is pretty amazing.

I guess it’s just you and me, then.
Yeah, more live DCD CD’s!
Yeah, it is just you two guys! envy I live a few blocks away from the Mayfair Theatre, which is where Toward the Within was recorded/filmed. Unfortunately, the place was pretty much destroyed in the Northridge earthquake, and nothing has happened with it. But this was nine years ago! I’m really confused why this theatre hasn’t been renovated/removed. Every time I pass it, I think about what an amazing recording that was… sigh.
Saw them in Portland, oh, 1996? It was good. The acoustics were very good-- at a sit-down opera house style venue.
HOWEVER I can’t stand to hear him sing, though. Ruins a song to hear him belt out these cheesy awkwardly phrased platitudes in English so earnestly. Makes me cringe, like watching an elementary school play.
"Sonambulistic, maniacal. . in the dark. . " AGH!
Her singing rawks though.

I’ve seen them 3 times in Toronto, first time (Aion?) 3rd row centre and was blown away! A friend was further back in the crowd and said the sound was the best he had heard at a concert. I saw the next tour (Toward the Within?) at the same theatre (Danforth Music Hall) and sat further back and was again amazed at the performance. I saw the Spiritchaser tour at a bigger hall (Massey) and was still in awe (although Brendan was a bit of a hothead…kinda like a music teacher fed up with the students).
I was excited to see Lisa Gerrard when she released The Mirror Pool, but the tour came through town when we had gone on vacation…I was very sad. She was also scheduled to be on the Lillith Fair tour but had to back out due to financial reasons…I was very sad. I can only hope that she will tour to support her new disc in the fall.
I was somewhat disappointed with Brendans solo release when I first heard it and decided to give his show a miss. I have since listened to the disc a few more times and it is growing on me. I should have gone…I am sad.
I wanted to see them when they played in Berkeley way back when (just after their release of Into the Labyrinth, I believe). Unfortunately, I did not know when they would be playing…until the night of the concert, by which time it was too late.
I, too, am sad.
In summer 1996, they came to Seattle, and I thought long and hard about whether to pay next month’s rent or go see them in concert.
Rent, tragically, won, and so I missed out on the show. I’ve regretted not going homeless ever since.

I went to the same show as Darwin’s Finch. And I don’t recall seeing him there… <glares suspiciously>
:smack: Never mind, now I see why I didn’t see him there. Reading comprehension is my friend.
One more for good measure:

I saw them in the early 90’s (maybe 91-92? I’m terrible with years) at Berklee School of Music in Boston. It was beautiful. They used all sorts of weird, old instruments and she stood at a podium as she sang. It was very moving.
I have unfortunately missed all of their concerts, and now will never see one (unless they get back together) …
On the upside, Lisa Gerrard does have an album coming out in September. And maybe a tour …
