Season 2 is like a whole new show. Same two wonderful lead characters, but much else is entirely different.
And they mercifully got rid of the singing kidneys.

Singing kidneys? And yes, they changed it up. It’s now set in a retirement home and features the residents, many of whom are older established actors. Not sure I like the change but they couldn’t continue with the original.
I’m really missing Eli, Samantha, and the original Adriana. Not sure I’m going to stick with it.
I was utterly shocked to discover that Bette (the bleached blonde who wears tight clothes) is played by Jane Seymour.
There’s a gold mine of elderly stars out there. Might as well use them before their expiration date.
A lot of changes. The transplant is done, she has inherited tens of millions of bucks, and she bought the nursing home and now runs it.
And made her the star of the intro in place of the disturbing animation.
It’s like they had planned only one season, and were surprised the show was successful enough to be renewed. The whole kidney transplant angle, which was the main premise of the show, disappeared once the surgery was finished.
I like the new version of the show, although it’s quite different. I do wonder what their long-term plans are for Drew. Will he just be Gina’s love interest now? His character seems almost superfluous now.
And, yes, I’m glad the singing kidneys are gone.
I like it when I see Jim Beaver in anything.
Thomas Middleditch was the main reason I started watching the show in the first place. And the main reason I continue watching.
Me too. I had no idea it was considered all that rare, at least in the United States. I guess 8% is rare-ish.
He keeps tweeting about it. Is he a lead on it?
