If you go to EDMUNDS.COM, or any other car site, you will see many examples of cars being rated against eachother-you know, in terms of ride comfort, interior room, features, etc. Well, I would like to know if anybody has evealuated hearses… you know, for that last ride you will ever take. i know the passenger (the dead guy) doesn’t care too much, but seriously, has anybody ever seen such a review?
Nope, since hearses are simply modified versions of makes built by current car makers, I seriously doubt that there are any. IIRC, there’s only one or two companies out there that even make hearses, it’s not like you have much choice in the matter.
Every hearse I’ve ever seen (and I got stuck behind two last week alone; see if I ever go to the local hospital again! ;)) was a modified Cadillac. Dunno if there are any other kinds.

Sure, there’s Lincoln, Oldsmobile (well, not anymore), Jaguar, Lexus, and I’ve even seen pictures of a Rolls Royce hearse. Those are hearses of recent vintage. If you want to go back far enough, then you can find hearses built by Studebaker, Packard, Ford, and just about every other carmarker that was around from the 20s on up. Caddy’s were the most common, but then Cadillac got the bright idea that they should do away with all their rearwheel drive models, so the hearse makers started using Lincolns since they were rear wheel drive (and thus had larger engines). Cadillac has since realized that putting front wheel drive in all their cars is not a good thing, and is now building rearwheel drive models again.
