Anybody ever use epoxy floor coating?

This stuff. I’m considering doing my basement floor with it. Was it difficult to put down? How well did it wear?

I just did the unfinished part of my basement floor a few weeks ago. It was very easy (I used a paint roller for most of the floor, brush around the wall edges) and it looks awesome compared to bare concrete. I can’t say how well it wears since it was so recent, though. So far so good.

A relative of mine did his second garage. It looks great, handles wear and tear well (he works on his motorcycles and snowmobiles there, along with car storage). The only problem I have seen is where he has dropped lit cigars and left them - there are small scorch marks.

I can’t comment on hard it was to put it down, because I hired someone to do my garage with the stuff. I can say that it seems quite tough, and it cleans up easy. I’ve been stripping down a car in preparation for a conversion job, and have made messes with oil, coolant, and related nastiness. Everything wiped up easily.

Important tip: Make sure it includes some grit. Without grit, it can be super-slippery, especially when wet.

Moved from MPSIMS to our advice forum, IMHO.
