I’ll probably have it done in a few weeks after all the tests, scans, etc. I thought it would be simple, go to doc’s office, lay down and it would be like the biopsy with a few needles inserted.
I have just done some research, and wow, that is some procedure. I will opt for general anesthesia if possible, as don’t want to contemplate what they are doing.
I’ve been in the OR for many, many prostate seedings. Should I ever happen to have to have that procedure, it will definitely be under general anaesthesia.
Sorry I can’t give you any info about the outcome, but please let us know how it went.
My father had it done. I don’t remember if he had general or local anesthesia, but he said it felt like somebody kicked him in the balls for almost a week.
After reading details of the procedure, maybe it would be easier if somebody just kicked me in the balls anyway. Think that would get rid of the cancer?
How long ago did he have it done? Still cancer-free?
I had it eight years ago, took radiation therapy five days a week for eight weeks, and survived this long, so guess I can’t complain. Anything over five years is supposed to be good. Supposedly the insertion of the seeds blasts it out much quicker, and possibly for a longer time.
As the docs have told me, if you have got to get cancer, prostate cancer is the least worst. Wow, that’s a relief.
