Anybody here grow up in the San Fernando Valley?
Do tell…
I drive by it every morning, does that count?
We’ve got a lot of Valley Dopers, though. Welcome to the Dope!
I reported your post so that a mod could move it to an appropriate forum. You’ll get the hang of it soon though!
Drive by it? Where do you live? Oxnard? Palmdale?
Further than Palmdale. Antelope Acres, actually.
Yes, I waste an inordinate amount of my life on the freeway, why do you ask?
Just curious. My Grandparents liven in Hesperia. I speny many a summer there, so lonely.
Fatso, welcome to the Straight Dope Message Board, we’re glad to have you with us.
You might want to read the forum descriptions on the entry page: this type of question belongs in the forum called “In My Humble Opinion,” not in “Cafe Society.” The former is devoted to miscellaneous polls and queries; the latter, to arts and entertainment. I’m therefore moving the post. No big deal, you’ll know for next time… and glad to have you with us.
Well, I didn’t grow up there, but I had a Great-Aunt and Uncle who lived on Langdon Avenue just off Roscoe Blvd. They had a huge lot with all kinds of fruit trees, a fish pond, and a way cool house that my Great-Uncle Earl had built in the 40’s. Sadly, the place was demolished in the 1980’s so Galpin Ford could expand their lot.
LA native here. I didn’t grow up in the SF valley, but I have lived here since 1978.
Why do you ask?
Welcome to the boards BTW.
I didn’t grow up in the SFV but currently live right on the border of studio city and sherman oaks.
My parents first lived in Encino after they got married. When I turned about a year old, we moved to Calabasas, then to Hancock Park (which I know is not in the valley), then back to Agoura Hills. My family now lives in Texas and you couldn’t pay me enough to go back to California.

Not there now, but I spent most of the 80’s and 90’s there, before moving back to Ventura then off to the Midwest. I lived in Canoga Park, Northridge and Reseda at various times.
