Anybody here get a CPAP via mail (Easy Breathe, etc)

I’m thinking of using Easy Breathe to get an automatic CPAP, to avoid having to do a sleep study. Anybody do anything like that? Did it seem to work?

A cpap breathing machine and face mask are a prescription item. Thought I did get a mask by mail order for some reason. Tubing and straps are not. They need to determine your pressure level to set it up.

Not if the CPAP auto-adjusts.

I bought one online that does both auto-adjust and manual adjust. It did not require a prescription, possibly because of the auto-adjust capability. I found I did not like the auto-adjust mode and so manually set it based on what was on my old machine. The new machine included instructions on how to set it manually.

I have often bought masks online without a prescription. Some sites will sell them that way and some won’t. I assumed that it was possible to buy them without a prescription because they are made to work with most CPAP machines and settings.

I sympathize with the OP. It has been over 10 years since my last sleep test and I have no interest in having another one. Also, the sleep center “assigned” me to a local vendor whom I really didn’t like at all. For example, they refused to ever sell me replacements for the soft part of the mask, which can tear or otherwise wear out a lot faster than the hard parts, they always insisted I buy a whole new mask. Then they could never tell me what anything was going to cost, saying it depended on what my insurance did. I’d rather buy online without insurance (which never seemed to cover much anyway) because at least I know how much I’m committing to spend.

Thanks Roderick.

Which company did you order from? What machine did you get, and are you happy with it (in manual mode)?
