Anybody here have a Lovesac sectional? Opinions?

We’re shopping for a new sofa, and Mrs. Wheelz is pretty set on getting a Lovesac sectional. I’m OK with it; they’re not cheap, but it looks like good quality stuff that will last a long time.

My biggest concern, though, is comfort. There are three choices of cushion fill. The default is what they call “standard foam,” and for (quite a bit) more money you can get a “cushy down blend” or “luxurious LovesoftTM.” No further information is given, and I’m having trouble finding on-line reviews that compare the different fills. We’ll probably end up going with the standard option, but I’ll kick myself if I spend all that money for an uncomfortable couch.

So does anybody here have experience with this brand? Can you tell me about the different fills, or offer any opinions on it otherwise?

Thanks!

I don’t own one and really have only experienced it in store, but that standard foam has all the support and comfort you’d expect from a flip and fuck futon. Which is to say not much. Pretty poor value for the money was my assessment, but again, I never owned one.

The Pottery Barn sectional I ended up buying has down and the wedge is collapsing already so maybe I’m not the one to talk too about it. Heh.

I’m just relieved that “lovesac sectional” is a sofa, and not a medical procedure.

My thoughts exactly!!

If you’re thinking of spending that kind of money on a couch, I’d call up the local Lovesac store at your local mall (does every mall now have a Lovesac store?), and see what their least busy time is if you’re concerned about going out in a pandemic. Hell, I’d guess they’re all on commission - I bet you could talk one of them into opening the store early for you for a private sitting. Couches and chairs are one area I don’t think I could buy online without testing it out first.

My wife has been looking at these things so please let us know your opinion once you buy/sit on one. I’m trying to keep her in the Flexsteel family since I’ve owned one for 20 years now and I haven’t broken it which is a minor miracle.

I was sure this thread was going to be about inguinal hernias.

Some friends just got one. I sat on it for the first time yesterday (we’ve been in the same Covid pod since the beginning) and found it comfortable. It is the standard fill. I will note that it is not really a “sit on it” couch, the seats are quite deep, you almost need to pull your legs up onto it to be able to lean back on the back cushions. So getting on is a bit of a commitment, be sure to gather remotes or books before sitting.

But the accessories are pretty cool. The table that fits over the ottoman and the cup holders seem useful.

One thing that my friends said about it is that the cushion covers tend to migrate around the cushions, so some cushion flipping/rearranging is needed. But it has held up to their quite rambunctious 45 pound dog for 2 months so far.

Well, it’s a done deal. The wife had made up her mind, so that was that. And they were having a 30% off sale that ended yesterday, so we got in under the wire and saved some bucks, for what it’s worth.

Anyhow, most of the reviews I’ve read seemed positive. I’m cautiously optimistic that I will be happy with this purchase.

I thought it was going to be about furniture with ovoid, fuzzy cushions.

Well, I have hernia surgery scheduled in 3 weeks so that might have colored my impression.

You’re having hernia surgery?

That takes guts.

I own a LoveSac Sac, pretty big, too. It’s great for what it is - a gigantic beanbag style seat big enough for three. (Mine was only recently released from being frozen in carbonite, it is not as fluffy after being in a vacuum storage bag for a decade.)

That was my first thought. My second thought was:

The Lovesac is a little old place where
We can get together
Lovesac baby…

And now it’s in your head, too.
