I’m looking for some bottles of Chartreuse Elixir Vegetal, but unfortunately the liquor laws in Washington are straight out of Prohibition and I can’t get it locally. Anybody know where I might be able to find some?
I this a mild version of Absinthe? What does it taste like? I’m up here with you, so I can’t help, but I’m curious as to why it’s unattainable up here…
It’s not a version of absinthe. Oh, I suppose there may be some wormwood in it, but the level of thujone should be negligible. I’d imagine it just tastes like regular green Chartreuse, only more so. (If you’ve never had green Chartreuse, it’s a very strong herbal flavor.)
There’s any number of different types of alcohol that aren’t readily available, and since this stuff would be more in the “medicine” category than the “booze” category, there’d be even less call for it.
