It won’t let me make a country either.Tthe weird thing is that the error message says it’s trying to make it in ‘the south pacific’ region which only has one member, rather than ‘the pacific’ which is where the FAQ says it should be created.

There was some talk on the Nationstates messageboard earlier about creating a new starting region because The Pacific was getting so big. Perhaps they’re doing that and working out some bugs.

Wow, this is freaky. I read about this site on an entirely different messageboard last night and started up my own nation, the Dominion of Aesiron. Then I come here today and see this. Ahhhh!

I’ll be moving to the Sea of Cecil as soon as I can. I’m only a newbie here but eh… SMDB’s cool.

I’m trying too - and I’ll pop into the Sea of Cecil once I get it all figured out and manage to set up my nation. Tomorrow is soon enough to try again and see if I get the error message again.

I had to threaten my computer with a hammer to get it and NationStates to allow me to move to the Sea of Cecil yesterday afternoon but it’s been playing nice ever since.

Very fun game. I just passed legislation for euthenasia laws and compulsory organ harvesting. They’re not related, I swear.

Aha, I figured out how to move to The Sea of Cecil so I’ve joined you guys now. Not that I’m quite sure what that means but I think it’s a good thing :). It will take awhile to get the hang of this game with the site being so slow. I see alot of off-peak play until their server gets upgraded.

My first post in their forums … time to get creative with my capital city:

Following successful agitation for independence, the newly-formed state of Suomark’s largest city was granted formal recognition as capital of the Republic seventy-eight years ago. St Ekaterina is a compact city with around three million residents. To the north and west lie dense, mountainous evergreen forests so typical of the Republic’s geography; to the east, beaches unpolluted by tourism other than during Suomark’s warm summer months. The city itself lies at the shallow end of the Hamilton gorge, where the torrents of the Hamilton River feed warmer ocean waters.

Access to the city itself is simple. Ekaterin International Airport (EIA) lies on plains to the immediate south of the city centre, served by all major international carriers. The modern city harbour, used primarily for tourist and private vessels, is home to a small passenger terminal constructed earlier this decade. For domestic residents, the M2 motorway and parallel rail link nearby form Suomark’s transport ‘spine’.

The city itself is unusual in the compact nature of its layout and the predominance of modern architecture. The Central Business District buttressing the city harbour is a maze of small skyscrapers; behind this, the main shopping and recreational centre is permanently bustling. The wealthier residential suburbs enjoy beach views to the south of the city harbour. The Ekaterin Bridge provides access to the higher ground north of the Hamilton gorge, looking down onto the city, and it is in this exclusive suburb of Suovo that the Republic’s oldest building, Parliament Hall, is located.

The high standard of living enjoyed by the local population is demonstrated by the absence of any ghettos or ‘no-go’ areas in St Ekaterina. The majority of the local population live in small, pleasantly modern apartments to the immediate west of the city centre; city planners have consciously striven to provide plentiful parks and artificial lakes. No major industry is based around St Ekaterina, with the majority of residents involved in service industries or banking and finance. Public transport is provided by the St Ekaterina Transport Authority (SETA), primarily based upon the recently refurbished metro system.

In addition to the expected complement of police and fire stations and the vast Ekaterina Mercy Hospital complex, the city is defended by troops based nearby at Fort Catterall, adjoining the airport. In line with Suomark’s budgetary and diplomatic priorities, the military presence in this location is limited and primarily focused towards defensive duties.

The attractiveness of St Ekaterina has unfortunately been reflected in a cost of living noticeably higher than the rest of the Republic, even more than in the ancient and picturesque second city, New Arundel. Similarly, recent indications of increasing militarism in surrounding regions have resulted in a skyline spoiled somewhat by the installation of a handful of ABM and SAM batteries on the tallest buildings.

Woohoo the dominion of Wolfenland is in existance. Aparently all the times of failing to make it made me careless, and I ended up with a left leaning college state rather than the hardcore Anarchy I wanted( private enterprise illegal? whats up with that?) I have to make due with what I got. (although I already screwed up my Anarchist leanings in the first issue it gave me, No way is my government going to allow the eating of Wolves, )
