Anyone been to a Shiprocked gig before?

I started a thread in CS about the Shiprocked event http://www.getshiprocked.com/, but the amount of responses was staggering (Not).

Basically I would like to attend but I have a few questions:

  1. Has anyone attended before or been on any cruise with this company?

  2. The rooms seem cheap(ish) for a cruise, what’s the catch? Are the food and drinks really expensive?

  3. Are there lots of hidden extras? I’ve already noticed on the website that the all rooms are subject to a $196 surcharge for "government taxes, fuel surcharge, pre-paid gratuities and ticketing fees. ". That means that the $599 basic room now costs $795 per person, assuming double occupancy. Given the current exchange rates between the dollar and the pound that is just about affordable, but as I also have to find money for flights and accomodation to get to the cruise any hidden extras might scupper the whole thing.

I’ve never even heard of that before, but it sure looks awesome! If I had the time and money, I would definitely want to go.

Just gotta add: Being on a cruise ship with Queensryche and Skid Row - sweet!!!

Exactly, if I can afford to do this, it will probably be the best gig ever, provided I don’t get sea sick.
