Anyone complain about no shirt, no shoes no food rules?

Maybe a few people do complain. I guess those rules have been around for decades now. Maybe places at the beach or resort areas don’t enforce those rules strictly for shirts. Are those rules part of health codes? Nobody thinks those rules are political.

There is only one reason masks became political, and it is simply that Donald Trump opened his big mouth about masks. If Trump has said that requiring a shirt should not be allowed, then it would have been just as politicized, and we would have Trump supporters taking off their shirts and howling about how unfair and unAmerican it is!

Yeah, but it was usually a shirtless drunk, and no one witnessing it did anything but smirk and think him an idiot.

( I wonder if mask objectors realize that’s exactly how they sound! )

I’m fine with it. It’s not like they’re making me wear pants.

I always assumed those rules were political. Specifically, to exclude Black people and poor people and counter-culture people. Not specifically to exclude people like me, who’d just spent a lot of time with black people and poor people and counter-culture people: that was more a happy circumstance.

Now that I’m old, I see it less as political, and more as a kind of fearful ‘health’ prejudice, where being different is the same as being unclean. So yes  still kind of like masks.

I mostly see these signs in beach towns, I just thought they didn’t want to deal with dripping-wet sand-covered beachgoers.
