Anyone else do a church doubleheader today?

Today is the 4th Sunday of Advent as well as Christmas Eve. Anyone else do a morning Advent IV service and attend a Christmas Eve service as well?

I will. 8:00 Mass this morning, and either vigil or Midnight Mass tonight.

StG

I may be pulling a triple header. Went to service this morning, then a 7pm service and then I have a tradition of going to midnight mass with a friend, but I haven’t heard from him. We’ll see.

I went to church this morning and am leaving in a few minutes to rehearse before the evening service.

Yep, did regular Sunday service this morning and will be heading off shortly for dinner at the church followed by the 7 p.m. Lessons and Carols service.

Yep! Went to the 8:30 service this morning, and will go to the 10:30 service tonight. I’m serving at that one, as a chalice bearer. I volunteered to do the 5:30 service as well, as so many chalists were going to be elsewhere. I have no kids or husband to schedule around, just my own family. But the verger managed to put together enough of us so that I’ll just do the later service.

Heck, Father Grosso, and the Dean, Father Lipscomb, will be doing four services today! Two in the morning, two tonight. And then there’s the Christmas Day service tomorrow!

I did the 9a.m. mass, went to work, then went to Midnight Mass.

Changed my membership on Christmas Eve to the denomination of my youth. (They have their Christmas Eve evening services at a decent hour.)

I did. Yesterday (Christmas Eve) I went to 9:00 mass as usual, and later the whole family gathered at my brother’s house before we went to the vigil mass at 3:30.

I did. Regular service at 11:15am and Christmas Eve service, complete with candles, at 8:00pm. Had a wonderful time.

Vigil Mass on Saturday, and midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. We planned very carefully to avoid having to go anywhere on Christmas.

A triple play, Sunday school, morning service, then evening service.

I sang for the Vigil mass on Sunday morning, then for all three Christmas masses (the midnight one, the dawn one at 6.00am and the Day one at 10.00am).

I did the 10-10. 10 am for the 4th Sunday of Advent mass, 10 pm for the midnight Christmas mass.

I’m in the German part of Switzerland and the French churches I’ve been able to locate so far change their hours every Sunday. There seem to even be Sundays when one of them doesn’t have services.

So until I can find a place having Mass in a language I actually understand, I’ll take that waiver for travelling, Father…

(Mom did the double deal; usually I would only go for the Sunday mass)

I did the double play too. 10:45 mass at St. Peter Chanel and then I was a lector at the midnight mass.

Good Times

We did. Grandpa sang morning and evening, Grandma played bells in the evening. (Two little girls were very unhappy when Grandma and Grandpa drove off to church without them).

The weird part of our Christmas Eve was no time spent rushing around playing Santa (Despite the afformentioned little girls.)

We did the gift opening thing all day Saturday–since little girls and parents were scheduled to drive home the day after Christmas.

I did, too. I went to church in the AM as usual, then drove to Seattle for Christmas with my sister and her family. We attended the evening Christmas Eve service at my niece’s church. They have the Christmas pageant at 6PM, and we always go. This year, my niece was the Virgin Mary. I love their pageant…they use real animals!
