I re-registered not only for the opportunity to vote against Bush, but to sign the petition to recall our govenor, Gray Davis.
Ironic how some of those that complain about so-called cheating (which was highly debatable) in the election process that put Bush in office are all to happy to break the law in clear and non-debatable ways to remove him.
Well, Bush set the precedent.
Bill H., what are you talking about? Please inform me. I don’t want to break the law.
One poster said they would break the law and vote even though they were ineligable. Another said they would break the law and assist him.
Heh. I’m applying for citizenship on the off chance that it goes through before the election…
Personally, I’m a liberal in almost every way, but I’d take McCain in a second if Bush somehow isn’t the Republican candidate in '04…
I assume you’re speaking about me, Bill H., and maybe you should find out what the law is before you accuse others of breaking it. I am perfectly eligible. And I am also not a “him”.
I plan on voting against Bush.
Now, if they resurrect Hitler and have HIM run against Bush, that doesn’t mean I’ll vote for Hitler.
Then again, considering Hitler is not a member of the Republican party, I just might. Hitler’d have holy hell trying to get a Republican Congress to do anything he wanted. And the whole time, they’d have Republican dirty tricks squads looking for blue dresses and questionable real estate deals in Hitler’s past.
Therefore, nothing too insane could possibly get accomplished for four years, which is already an improvement over now.
If Joe Lieberman wins the nomination, though, I just might have to sit down and think about it. The dummy or the loony? Lesser of two evils, at Mach 10…
Er… the loony dummy or the loony, I think you mean…
No, I don’t think Bush is nuts. I don’t think he’s too bright, but I don’t think he’s nuts. I think he’s a not-too-smart career politician, following in his daddy’s connections/footsteps, and handled by a crack team of powerbrokers and powermongers. Hell, look at his cabinet.
When Bush talks about WMDs or the economy, I do not think he is crazy. I think he is simply lying, or “spin-doctoring.”
Lieberman, on the other hand, scares me. Judging from his past record, I do not believe this man operates in the same reality as I do…
Maybe if all you folks hadn’t been so damned terrified of jury duty and had registered in the first place, we wouldn’t have this problem.
There’s the (admittedly slim) chance that Hillary’ll be the Democratic nominee; that’ll make punching the card for Shrub pretty easy. IMESHO, of course.
If you’d heard some of Lieberman’s positions on media censorship- he’s on the Parent’s Television Council advisory board- you’d be less worried he was crazy and more afraid that HE was the dummy…
I think the best person to blame in that case would be Gore. It was always his election to lose.
I’ll be voting for Howard Dean against Bush
Eve, I DID vote in the last election.
I’m a Texan.
I KNOW what it means to have a rich Texan in the White House!
I plan on voting to re-elect Bush in 2004, the first time in my life I will have ever voted for a Republican for president. Congratulations, manic Bush-haters, I couldn’t have done it without you.
No, I’m already registered and I’ll be voting for ole George just to keep the commies out of the Whitehouse. I did do something similar to what you’re suggesting several years ago. I moved to Tennessee from Florida in the Summer of '92 and had to make sure I was registered to vote in time to cast my ballot against Bill Fuckin Clinton. To no avail as we all know but I actually stood in the rain to cast my vote AGAINST that commie, lying, whorehopping, anti-American piece of shit. I could tell that guy was poison a mile off. Years later the damage has been done. We’re a nation of space cadets that are busily trying to define political correctness and buying Hillary’s pillories en masse hoping she’ll turn our nation into a village of some sort. Dubya may not be the answer to all of life’s problems (clue - there ain’t one) but at least he’s an American. I feel sorry for you.
Wow.
All I can say is, that’s one of the reasons I love the SDMB: where else could one find such an incredibly diverse community?
Ah, baloney. That simply must be a devilishly clever parody.
“Keep the commies out of the White House” ?
“Anti-American piece of shit” ?
“Buying Hillary’s pillories” ?
I’m amazed so many haven’t been registered to vote or haven’t voted.
Since I was 18, I made sure to vote, and consider it important.
