Anyone else had the New York Times email them?

I guess I’ve read gift links etc on the Dope; the email came to the address I use for the Dope; I haven’t given them an email address; and I don’t think I’ve ever read anything on the NYT other than via the Dope.It’s not clear to me how they got my email address - slightly concerning, really.

All a bit curious.

They wouldn’t get your Email from the SDMB. Not possible.

Did they prompt you for your Google Profile, many sites do and that would give them your Gmail address.

I gave in and gave them a work address in order to read an article. I’ve deleted what they send to that address unread.

I have no recollection of that.

It’s an anonymised email address, so that’s good. But still a surprise.
