I’ve heard that slugs are attracted to beer.
At my house, this is true. We sit around the day after Christmas, do nothing, drink beer (or whatever alcoholic drink you prefer), and watch movies.
‘Slug Day’ is niiiiiice!
I can’t claim Slug Day this year.
I announced loudly and longly from Wednesday on that on Monday, the 26th, I was going out caching and nobody better get in my way. I met up with a friend who unloaded two bikes out of his van and we set out. A lot of what we did was off-road, and I had not been up on a bike in the better part of ten years. By the end of the day, I was having thigh cramps.
It was a great day!! We snagged 11 caches on an absolutely beautiful day, temp in the low 70s and very few clouds. I’m tired and sore today, but it was so worth it!!!
I just had a four-slug-day weekend. Logged about 16 hours in Battlefield 2, watched Serenity twice, played D&D, and slept. A lot.
I worked Boxing Day. Sob. We were so, so busy. A million little kids with vouchers and people trying to return DVDs (they can’t) or books that had been dropped on the bath, or getting pissy that everything in the store wasn’t discounted.
Walked around muttering ‘time-and-a-half, day-in-lieu’. I can’t think of a worse place to spend Boxing Day than at a mall.
Maybe not the exact day after, but yeah, pretty much. Between all the running around, visiting this and that relative, rich foods, sweets galor, after a while you’re running on auto-pilot and if you don’t have at least one day to veg out, you pretty much collapse.
