Anyone Else Have "Word Triggers"?

He-man.

Not sure this qualifies, but this morning MSNBC ran a headline reading JUSTICE FOR SADDAM and I shortly found myself humming an old Warner Bros. toon tune called Flowers for Madame.

Whee! => sleekit, cowrin’, timorous beastie…
Come => I will make you a fisher of men
Assume => you make an ass out of you and me

A longer variant, but:

I see => said the blind man to his deaf daughter when the dead horse kicked him in the amputated leg

Dave’s not here, man.

When I hear “lights out” I sing “uh-huh…blast, blast, blast.”

I don’t even remember the name of that song, but I think that lyric will be with me forever.

This trigger is genetically programmed in my brain at the subatomic level:

“phenomenon” => “do doooo da doo doo”

Oh! Oh! Oh!

Sorry for double-posting, but I almost forgot one. Whenever the topic of Star Wars comes up (way too often at my work), inevitably someone says “May the Force be with you” to which I simply must reply “And also with you.” Heh! And I’m not even Catholic!

Yup, that’s a good one, too. J. Geils Band - “Lights Out.”

Oh, I thought of another one - whenever we come back home, I almost always say “Home again, home again, jiggety-jig.”

Wow, me too…I thought I was the only one.

Cow-orker who sits next to me asked a question about our “dental plan” to which I had to reply “Lisa needs braces.”

Maria must be followed by Theresa. I guess I just studied a bit too much before my test on the war of Austrian succession.

But I don’t have the same reaction to pragmatic and sanction. Hmm…
