Anyone else not getting Netflix discs?

“Throttling” aside, I have yet to get any discs back this year from netflix. I just want to see if anyone else who subscribes is getting treated the same.

I had some that were supposed to be delivered on 28 Dec, that did not get here until about 7 Jan. I don’t know how much of that to attribute to the snow we had here, since we didn’t get mail for several days. My “Nearest Netflix Shipping Facility” is in Albuquerque.

What do you mean by “throttling”?

A couple years back, Netflix was sued (and they lost) because a customer figured (basically) that Netflix uses an equation to determine when to give you your next disc based on a number of factors, from program plan, discs out, money paid in, etc. His argument was, that Netflix could not do this, and still maintain the advertising they had. Netflix had to pay out, and also offered memebers (if you where a memeber in 2005) a free month of the next highest up subscription package.

I had one disc that was going back to MD, and Im in GA. However, I also sent back another disc, that was going to my local distribution office, an hour out.

A friend of mine who just retired from the Postal Inspectors Department told me that Netflix, Gamefly and the like are the most stolen items currently. Have you checked with netflix to see if they sent them and when? (I don’t subscribe so I don’t know what the right procedure for that sort of check would be)

Netflix ‘usually’ shoots out an email when they recieve and send discs. I have gotten niether.

I reported a disk that didn’t come in, and the replacement came in the same day the original did. That was when I was using it quite a bit, though, so I was probably being “throttled”. Seems like holding on to the disk a couple days after you watch it can actually get you faster turn around times. Bunch of BS, if you ask me!

I sent a batch in on Monday and got a new batch yesterday. We usually send in two or three at a time and sometimes put them in the same envelope if one is going to a distant processing center and one is going to the local center.

Been a member for about 4 months now. As soon as I get them we watch them and send 'em back in. Usually we get an average of 6 a week (we have the 3 disk deal). That’s taking into account no mail service on Sundays.

I’ve heard of the “throttling” but haven’t seen it with our service. A lot of movies have been out for awhile so that might have something to do with it. Also, I always put all disks in one envelope to save them some money on shipping. (They all go to Minneapolis and I have no idea if saving them a few cents helps, but it’s easy enough to delude myself that it does).

I’m getting them, though the service is markedly slower (and has been for a while) than it was when I first signed up about 2 years ago.

Been with them for couple of years, and the disks keep coming right on time. Usually only a 2-3 day turnaround. In all that time, only had one time did not get a disk, and twice they did not get mine back.

In all cases, reported it online and they took care of it with no problem.

Great service as far as I’m concerned. We moved up to the 5-at-a-time this year as there is so much garbage on TV hardly ever watch it any more.

I once reported a disc missing, it showed up a few weeks later, on the shelf next to my apartment building’s mailboxes. Opened.

I was under the impression that’s not a good idea - there is a bar code that’s supposed to show through a slot on the back of the return envelope, which they presumably scan upon receipt. But if you put more than one disc in the envelope - Hey! I think we found the culprit!! :dubious:

I have had absolutely no problems. I am on the two-at-a-time plan.

I think the bar code is supposed to show through the envelope when the movie is sent out, not when it’s returned. Formerly, the envelopes instructed you to insert the movie face-up, but the bar code will only show through if you insert the movie upside down.

If I remember correctly, the return instructions actually tell you to put two in one envelope if you lose a return mailer. I guess, then, tt must be ok!

Our turn around is 2-3 days consistantly, including after New Year’s.

Sorry for the double post- the board freaked out as I was posting. Could someone alter a mod to delete the duplicate?

I got three today. What should I watch first? Love Actually, or Cannibal: The Musical?

My Netflix has also been markedly slower. Like Pygmy I’m in the southwest. Don’t know what’s going on, but it has never been this slow!

Yep. Says so on the envelope. Forgot to mention that.

BTW, I would think someone has to actually open the return envelope to scan the disk in. What would prevent someone from sticking a blank disk in the sleeve?
