I picked up Jam Sessions last week for the DS, knowing that while I have never owned a guitar in my life, I have played a lot of video games, and that an opportunity to perhaps translate one useless skill into another is not something to be wasted.
I haven’t really had time to use it until a few days ago (why do classes have to get in the way of everything?), but I just played through “Like a Rolling Stone”, and damn is this fun! Is anyone else playing it?
I bought it when it came out. It’s kind of like playing a guitar, but I already have a guitar which is more fun to play, so I’m finding I’m not really playing it. It’s not a game like Guitar Hero. My plan is to use it for composing music when I get some free time. It’s a very good program, though.
I tried learning the guitar some years back, unfortunately my stupid dumpy fingers had trouble stretching for some chords. I got Jam sessions yesterday and I love it.
The only downside is the crappy selection of songs included. That was easily solved by a visit to chordie.com. Here’s hoping for an electric guitar version with a wah-wah pedal attatchment next year
