Anyone else watch "Harry's Law" with Kathy Bates?

I can’t stand David E Kelly’s work, (God I HATED Ally McBeal). The ‘Shoe store/Law office’ thing is where the show lost me.

I gave it a try.

I liked the second episode, possibly more than the first. I didn’t have a lot of sympathy for the defendants though. Like Harry herself said, the verdict for the armed robber old lady was ‘preposterous’. And the "one child policy’ strikes me as something that would be clear-cut against labor laws, but I don’t know Ohio state law. Would something like that really go directly to the state supreme court? I thought things only went to a higher court on appeal.

I’m glad the guy from the first episode is working with them. And I’m surprised that the whole ‘shoe store gag’ made it as far as the sign on the door. I wonder if the ex girlfriend will be a recurring character.

I was wondering the same thing. It’s kind of in character - so it could just be really good acting, but Kathy seems really tired and world worn.

Well, I tried to watch it, but it was up against “Being Human” and “Being Human” won. I watched “Castle” later on. I lost interest when the poor old black lady who was being downtrodden by the system was in court, and it was indistinguishable from the poor young black man who was being downtrodden by the system from last week.

That’s David E. Kelly. It won’t get better.

That’s standard Hollywood markup, where nobody is as pretty in real life as their TV show counterparts.

Didn’t watch it. Wandered into this thread wondering what it was like. Not changed my mind.

I found it strange than in the trailer, right after the flasher exposes himself to her by opening his tranchcoat, her next words are “Alert Peter.”

I’m a ridiculously bleeding heart liberal, but this show makes me want to vote for every republican ever. It was absolutely absurd in every respect.
