Anyone else watching Wrecked?

New show on Speed Channel about a Chicago-area heavy towing company. First two eposides dealt with stuff like a trailer stuck on Lower Wacker Drive, another trailer that didn’t quite make it under a bridge, and a third trailer that got hung up on a snowbank.

I’m gonna watch this for my trucking fix instead of Hugh the Ice Road asshole.

Thanks for the heads-up on this; I set my DVR to record Thursday’s episodes. And I agree, Ice Road Truckers had more potential and didn’t live up to it IMO.

Another show with a grumpy business owner and a lot of bleeped out cussing.

You’re welcome, FH.

Well, yeah, but nowhere near the level of “American Chopper”. Reminds me a lot of Philo & Orville’s wrecking company in Every Which Way But Loose, all they need is an orangutan.

Watching it tonight - their editing crew needs to pay a little more attention. They blurred out the logo on the garbage truck most of the time, but in at least one shot, the company logo was visible clearly behind the guy talking to the camera.

It was cool seeing familiar locations but I’m not sure how interesting it would be to non-Chicagoans. I’ll have to see some more episodes to get a good feel for it and figure out if I will continue watching.

I’m going to slap their subtitle writer. The street where the semi got stuck is “Wacker”, not “Whacker.” And Lower Wacker, no less - the truck wasn’t so much under a bridge as a tunnel of sorts.

They seem to be doing fine so far. Anyone who’s seen The Blues Brothers should know about Lower Wacker.

Amen. Not only has it become apparent that Hugh’s a dick, and that Drew is a whiner (I originally felt he was a decent guy just with bad luck) but this whole new season just seems, um, really fake. They moved most of the same guys to a new location, which doesn’t really make sense. And the whole idea is just played out. The first season was watchable, but annoyingly padded out. No matter how hard they try to make it seem so, Ice Road driving will never be as dangerous as crab fishing!

I really like Wrecked. Knowing something about cars and towing and things in general I like how its pretty low key. They don’t make things that are just “tricky” to do always seem like they’re “on the verge of impending catastrophic failure!!” with ominous music and fake zooms etc.

Again, this is a true reality show. Just filming things that would happen more or less the same if they weren’t filming it.
