Anyone familiar with KALARIPPAYAT (Indian Martial Art)?

I read an article on what I beleive is this and it had some interesting information on some training that practitioners would undergo and it sounded interesting. Specifically, there was a pole that they would maintain their “12 Postures” on for what seemed to be absurd amounts of time, providing them with some excellent strength/endurance benefits. I can’t for the life of me find anyting relating to this training pole and most of the information on the art in general is pretty sparse.

Anyone know anything about this?

I know that you don’t want to break any bones while practicing this.
